Vacuum sintering is selected when the process does not need mechanical load

Vacuum sintering, annealing, brazing, degassing, and clean heat treatment are typically handled by a vacuum furnace when parts can be processed without direct pressing. Key inputs include hot-zone material, vacuum level, process gas, usable work zone, cooling method, batch weight, and contamination limits.

Hot pressing is selected when load is part of densification

Vacuum hot pressing combines heat, atmosphere control, tooling, and mechanical pressure. It is often reviewed for dense ceramics, carbon materials, powder metallurgy, and composite parts where pressure, dwell time, and tooling contact are required to reach the target result.

Decision path for buyers

If the project only requires a controlled thermal atmosphere, start with a vacuum furnace. If the material route requires applied load, die tooling, or pressure-assisted densification, start with hot pressing and define load, die size, stroke, and target density early.
